This demo shows how Layer originally handled project data using categories, elements, and fields. While the interface and capabilities have grown significantly since this version, it offers a glimpse into the foundation of how Layer’s data model works.

You’ll see how early users captured data using structured fields, added elements to categories, and viewed project information in basic table formats. At the time, Layer was in early proof-of-concept use with a handful of customers and no templates or integrations.

This video is part of our ongoing archive, showing how Layer has evolved from early beta to the robust platform it is today.

Note: The UI and feature set in this video are no longer current. See our latest major version (4.0) release for up-to-date workflows.
