We’re excited to share new improvements that are now available in Layer with our latest release. This update introduces expanded Formula Field support, better performance for related fields, a new Run Automation Now trigger, and improved PDF viewing.
Formula Improvements
Formula inputs now refresh automatically when field configurations change. This creates a smoother experience when working with auto matched data.
You can now export Formula fields to Excel and get accurate computed values in your spreadsheets. This makes it easier to share calculated data with teams that work outside of Layer.
We also fixed an issue that caused related field tables to display object object and resolved a problem with relative date filters not matching correctly.

New "Run Automation Now" trigger
Automations are more flexible with the addition of a Run Automation Now trigger. This lets you run an automation instantly instead of waiting for a defined event. You can also pass Revit parameters through automations, which creates new possibilities for linking model data with project workflows.
Improved PDF performance
We've upgraded our PDF viewer to enhance performance for zooming and panning, especially on documents with lots of annotations. This makes it easier to navigate detailed sheets and markups.
Other Improvements
Faster loading for dependent related field values
Better reliability for select options
Improved support for formula functions with flexible argument counts
Bug Fixes
Fixed visual formula editor dialog overlap on iOS
Fixed crash in the Activity pane when referencing removed users
Fixed errors when applying templates with many files
Fixed search bar not clearing input when switching views
Fixed missing formula functions reference page
