Product Marketing Analyst

Lincoln

The Role

As a Product Marketing Analyst (PMA) at Layer, you’ll be a key technical partner in delivering customer value through implementation, problem solving, and execution on real workflows. You’ll work closely with Strategic Account Executives, partnering with them as they lead sales, implementation, and expansion for their accounts, and providing the technical depth needed to turn deals into long-term, expanding customer success.

You’ll also play a critical role beyond individual accounts by owning the creation and delivery of reusable Layer workflow content that powers marketing, enables sales, and standardizes delivery. This includes shipping high-cadence onboarding assets like how-to articles, videos, guides, and templates, and building scalable systems (including programmatic generation in our Notion CMS) to produce and maintain content faster over time. You’ll work closely with Engineering to resolve technical issues and ensure product quality.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the intersection of customers, product, engineering, and go-to-market.

What You’ll Do

  • Own onboarding content production: Ship a steady cadence of workflow content that helps users implement Layer quickly, including how-to articles, guides, tutorials, and template walkthroughs.

  • Build content as a system: Maintain and improve our Notion CMS workflows, including structured templates, repeatable formats, and programmatic content generation so we can ship faster without sacrificing quality.

  • Turn real workflows into reusable assets: Convert customer questions, support patterns, and implementation learnings into content that scales across accounts and use cases.

  • Create workflow templates: Build and maintain reusable Layer templates and starter projects that support demos, onboarding, and productized use cases.

  • Support enablement: Produce lightweight internal assets that help Sales and Customer Success deliver consistently (short guides, “how it works” pages, setup checklists).

  • Keep content accurate: Update existing content as the product evolves so customers always have current, working instructions.

  • Work cross-functionally to unblock shipping: Partner with Engineering and Product to clarify product behavior, validate workflows, and close gaps that block documentation or tutorials.

  • Own Layer Community content: Manage and publish workflow content, announcements, and updates to the Layer Community, ensuring customers have a clear, up-to-date place to learn, discuss, and discover best practices.

  • Turn workflows into community knowledge: Translate onboarding content, templates, and real customer solutions into community posts that drive adoption, reuse, and peer learning.

  • Maintain content quality and cadence: Keep community content accurate, organized, and consistently refreshed as the product and recommended workflows evolve.

  • Close the loop with customers: Use questions, feedback, and discussion patterns from the Layer Community to inform new documentation, templates, and onboarding assets.

  • Support Backup

What Defines Success

  • Customers can self-serve onboarding with fewer questions and fewer dead ends

  • New workflow content ships every day week (not every month). We know small updates can have an outsized impact!

  • Our content library (templates, help-docs, and video-guides) grows and stays up to date as Layer improves and adds new features

  • Layer’s how-to content becomes easier to create over time through systems, templates, and automation

  • Organic traffic and search visibility grows as content volume increases (SEO performance improvement over time)

  • Sales has reliable assets they can confidently reuse

  • The Layer Community becomes a trusted, actively updated hub for workflows, templates, and how-to guidance

  • Customers can discover answers and best practices through community posts before reaching out to Support or Sales

Who You Are

  • Tool-fluent and scrappy: You’ve worked inside a highly technical team and are comfortable moving fast with tools like Notion and Figma, plus lightweight coding (basic HTML/CSS, APIs, and automation) to unblock yourself and ship things faster.

  • Technical and pragmatic: You’re a builder comfortable with software fundamentals (data modeling, APIs, automation) and applying them to real workflows.

  • Customer-centric problem solver: You enjoy untangling messy requirements and delivering working systems, not just recommendations.

  • Cross-functional by default: You’re comfortable collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering without rigid role boundaries.

  • Clear communicator: You’re the first to raise your hand and say “I don’t know” when you’re confused. You can also take a meeting and explain a technical concept to a non-technical person so they can find a practical solution.

  • Ownership-driven: You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and experience with software systems (tell us yours! We’re particularly interested in: Figma, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, data modeling, automation).

  • Comfort working directly with customers and collaborating closely with seller-doer Account Executives.

  • Experience designing workflows, templates, or repeatable systems used by multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to debug issues, work with imperfect data, and support QA or troubleshooting efforts.

  • Experience with AEC, BIM, construction tech, or spatial data is a plus—but not required.

Why Layer

  • Real impact: You’ll help customers—and internal teams—replace fragmented workflows with a single source of truth.

  • Cross-functional ownership: Your work will directly influence customer success, marketing effectiveness, and product quality.

  • Small, senior team: Work closely with decision-makers in a fast-moving environment with real responsibility.

  • Meaningful product: Build and refine tools that solve real problems for people working with buildings and spatial data.
