To create a Project, click the “Create Project +” button in the top right corner of your Project Dashboard.

From there, you have three ways to create a Project:
1. Create a Project from Scratch
2. Using a Layer Template
3. Using your own Company's Template

1. Create a Project from Scratch

You will choose this option if you do not want to start your Project from a Layer Best Practice Template or from an existing Company Template.

To do this, click “Create Project from Scratch” then fill out the “Project Name” and “Project Location” fields and click “Save”. Your Project will be created.

From there, you will create your Categories and Fields in your empty project. Creating from scratch works best if you have a simple project to setup.

2. Create a Project from a Layer Template

We have created Best Practice Templates for popular AECO workflows to get you started. These Templates provide you sample project that you can edit and customize with your project data.

Under the Layer Templates tab, click the Template you need. Fill out the “Project Name” and “Project Location” fields and click “Save”. Your Project will be created. You can delete or edit any of the data within this Template to make it your own.

You can see what our Layer templates look like here: https://layer.team/templates
Click into the template and click Preview Template to see the project.

3. Create a Project from a Company Template

Click the Company tab to see which templates have been created within your Company.
Select the Template you want to use and create your project from the template. Projects created from Templates are not connected to the Template so deleting or editing any of the data within your project will not affect the original Template.

Using Templates is a helpful way to set up your company's standards and repeat them for similar projects.
