Rename a Project
There are two ways to rename a Project:
In the Project Dashboard: click the “three dot” icon next to the Project that you would like to rename and click “Rename Project”. Only Project Owners can rename a Project.
In the Project Settings: click “Rename Project”.
Leave a Project
When you are no longer active or needed on a Project and would like to clean up your Project Dashboard, you can leave a Project.
There are three ways to leave a Project:
In the Project Dashboard: click the “three dot” icon next to the Project that you would like to leave and click “Leave Project”.
In the Project Settings: click “Leave Project”.
Contact your Project Admin and ask them to remove you from the Project.
Back Up a Project
You can download all of the data and files within your Project. This is a common practice for users who would like to create a back up of photos from a building survey or assessment.
Exporting project data functionality is only available for Project Owners and Editors. Please contact your Project Owner if you need to download the Project.
To Export Project Data:
Click into your Project
Go to Project Settings (found by clicking the project name in the upper left corner)
Click “Export Project Data” from the dropdown menu and choose the location of where to save the zip file.

Export Project Data Structure
Each Element’s data and files will be saved in its own folder.
Delete a Project
Only Project Owners can delete Projects. To do so, go to the Project Dashboard, click the “three dot” icon next to the project and click “Delete Project”. All deleted Projects will appear under the Trash tab of the Project Dashboard for 30 days. If you deleted the Project by mistake and need to recover it, please contact Support at help@layer.team.
Set the Date & Currency Format for a Project
Layer makes it possible to set the date format and currency based on geographic region.
Click into the Project and go to the project settings found by clicking on the project name in the upper left corner
Click “Date & Currency Format”
Choose the region you require from the dropdown list
Click “Update Region”
