What are Elements?

Elements are the second level of the data hierarchy in a Layer project.

Elements are the items within a Category. If you have a Category called “Rooms” then each individual room is an Element. If you have a Category called “Product Specs” then each piece of furniture is an Element.

  1. Layer Element: contains data outside of the Revit model

  2. Revit Model Element: contains data synced from the Revit model </aside>

If we use the spreadsheet analogy, each Element would be a row in the spreadsheet. The data you collect for each Element would be collected in Fields , which would be the columns in a spreadsheet.
